Our CityWe love
Riverside California, and definately think that it is a wonderful community. Why? Well, lets not talk about the demographics, median income or how many people live here. Riverside has many things that we love about it, and honestly there are some downsides. We'll freely admit to those, because like a person, Riverside actually has a personality and isn't just a collection of new developments slapped together with some commercial outposts and a gas station(Like neighboring Moreno Valley).
Riverside Neighborhoods Our favorite part of Riverside is Downtown Riverside, and the historic districts that surround it. You'll find areas like Prospect Place, see the video above, as well as the "Woods Streets" where there are literally hundreds of vintage Victorian, craftsman and old style mission homes. This is because the area had a very developed community in the early to mid 1900's.
East of Downtown Riverside, you'll get to the University of California, which is a great campus and some good neighborhoods of condos and apartments that surround it. To be honest though, along University avenue some of the neighborhoods don't have a good reputation, even though they have been working on improving the area as part of our "
Riverside Renaissance".
Our Renaissance includes clean up our our Fairmont park lakes, new library in the Arlington area, freeway expansion, community centers, rehabilitation of the Fox theatre and much more.
